I often combine my art and poetry in a single work. Some of this work is ekphrastic in nature, writing a poem about my own art or the work of another other artist. Other times the poem comes first, and I paint or draw to illustrate or better yet to extend the text through new art. To share this work I have done exhibitions and presentations where I both read my poetry and display my art and, in a few cases, I have managed to publish a poem with an image. I have also been experimenting with artist books, where I craft a small work that incorporates both image and text. In this portfolio, I present a few images from four such works to give some sense of this work.
