Townscapes
Like traditional landscapes, I enjoy capturing the spirit of more urban places through sketching and painting. Although much of this is started and finished on site, I often take photos to guide my work's completion at a later time.

I created this print from photos I snapped on a train, leaving NYC late in the afternoon on a cold December day. Later I drew the image on a copper plate for traditional intaglio etching, using aquatint to build up different shades of grey.
